Stock Pitch Competition Details

  • Each team of 2-4 members will pitch an equity, long or short. Stocks are to come from the universe of companies with market capitalizations above $500 million and share prices above $2 as of the close of regular trading on date of submission. Selections must be a stock (common or preferred), including ADRs and GDRs. Pair trades are acceptable as long as each security would be eligible on its own. ETFs, ETNs, Closed-End Funds, and other exchange-traded securities, including derivatives (options/futures) and currencies, will not be eligible for the competition. Additionally, equities must have a three month average daily volume of at least 100,000 shares and must trade on the NASDAQ, NYSE, or NYSE AMEX (no OTCBB or PinkSheets). The opportunity will be evaluated as a long or short position with a three to twelve month investment horizon.

  • Each team must submit a one-pager here highlighting their idea by October 14th at 11:59pm. Submissions should be written in Times New Roman 12pt font with one-inch margins and in submitted in PDF format. These one-pagers will be evaluated on a rolling basis, so we recommend teams submit their pitch for consideration as soon as possible after identifying an idea they are excited about.

  • Invitations to the first round of the ENGAGE UIC 17 Stock Pitch Competition will be sent out in coming months by email and teams will have a limited time to confirm their attendance, and have each member of the team purchase a conference ticket. Teams invited to the UIC 17 First Round will pitch their idea to a panel of judges on the day of the conference, November 1, 2024, and select teams will pitch their idea to the entire conference later that day.
